WSBA Support for Section-Sponsored CLE ProgrammingBuilding a successful CLE three different ways:(1) Plan A Program This is normally a full-day program where agreement is reached between the Section and WSBA-CLE for the Section to co-sponsor a program (excluding a Section's mid-year or annual meeting). Review Steps and Timelines for Plan A Programs (2) Plan B Program This is a Section's mid-year or annual meeting. Sections often want to offer free (or low cost) CLE credits to its members as a benefit of Section membership. This member benefit CLE programming consists of events that last no longer than 1.5 hours and offer no more than 1.5 CLE credits. The tuition is usually no more than $35, and is usually free to Section members. Understanding the need to support Sections as they offer this member benefit, WSBA developed the Mini-CLE Program. The goal of the Mini-CLE Program is to support Sections as they develop their member-benefit CLE events ("mini-CLE" events). WSBA CLE staff works together with a designated Section Representative to manage all facets of program development, execution and follow-up. WSBA CLE does not charge any fee for these services, and any revenue generated from any mini-CLE event goes directly to the Section. The Mini-CLE program is designed to support Section member benefit programming, not be a substitute for half-day or full-day CLE programming. If a Section wishes to do such programs, they should follow WSBA CLE Plan A or Plan B guidelines. · Designate a Section Representative to act as a liaison for the mini-CLE event. · Section Representative fills out and submits the Mini-CLE Event Form at least 10 weeks prior to the event. What does WSBA staff do? · Reviews the submitted Mini-CLE Event Form form for completeness. · Reviews the proposed agenda for credit-worthiness. · Works with the Section Representative to finalize the form, if additional information is needed. · Prepares and submits the Form-1 to request MCLE credit approval. · Reserves space at WSBA offices (pending availability) if the Section wants to hold the event at WSBA. · Sets up and processes electronic registrations. · Posts information about the program on the Section's website (if requested by the Section). · Sends a broadcast email promoting the program (if requested by the Section). · Prepares sign-in sheets and sends them to the Section Representative via email the day before the event. · After the event, reports credit to MCLE (Section Representative must submit the completed sign-in sheets and any walk-in registrations within three (3) after the event). · Processes any expense reimbursement claims submitted by the Section Representative (the Section is charged for any such expenses). What does the Section Do? · Secures event space if the event is held someplace other than WSBA (please note, Sections may NOT enter into contracts for event space without prior WSBA CLE approval) · Copies written materials for distribution at the program · Assumes responsibility for all event-related expenses · Follows all procedures and timelines
