State and local government agencies are increasingly being drawn under the umbrella of the HIPAA rules, particularly due to the HI-TECH Act and significant revisions to the original rules known as the Omnibus Rules, effective 9/23/2013. Topics to be addressed in this presentation will include what agencies may be covered entities or business associates, why it matters, areas of risk and lessons learned.

There will be a social and section meeting following the presentation from 5:15 - 7:30 p.m.
