Trial Advocacy Program and Mock Trial
Train and practice with support from litigation experts and judges!

The annual WSBA Trial Advocacy Program offers a two-day intensive trial-skills training from seasoned trial lawyers and a one-day mock trial on a separate date. This seminar is appropriate for attorneys working in either the criminal or civil arena, with little or no trial experience. Past participants commented that the seminar was “completely engaging and thought-provoking. Entertaining, real-world skill development” and that “Every young lawyer should attend.”

The first two days will be held at the WSBA Conference Center. The Mock Trial will be held at the Seattle Justice Center.

  • Trial notebook and organization
  • Trial ethics
  • Objections and motions in limine
  • Voir dire
  • Opening statements
  • Presenting evidence and demonstrative evidence
  • Direct examination and exhibits
  • Cross examination and redirect
  • Closing statements

New Lawyer: $167 (Attorneys admitted to the bar for less than four years*)
Standard: $379

Regular Tuition Rates(After 9/15/2013)
New Lawyer: $199
Standard: $449

*Example: a member registering on June 1, 2013, would need to be admitted to the bar after June 1, 2009, to receive the discount).

Participants have the option of attending the CLE only, or attending the CLE and a mock trial on Saturday, November 9. The mock trial provides attorneys the unique opportunity to put into practice what they learned at the CLE without the pressure of an actual trial.
