2006 WYLD Award Recipients
The Washington Young Lawyers Division take great pleasure in announcing the recipients of the 2006 WYLD awards:
The Outstanding Young Lawyer Award was given to Seattle attorney Diankha Linear of Cairncross & Hempelmann for her commitment to the community and her dedication to promoting and diversifying the legal profession. The award will be presented to her by WYLD President John Brangwin and President-elect Mark O'Halloran at a reception hosted by her law firm, Cairncross & Hempleman, on November 29, 2006.
The Thomas Neville Pro Bono Award was presented to Seattle attorney David East of McNaul Ebel Nawrot & Helgren for demonstrating initiative and leadership in public service. The award was presented by Mark O'Halloran, President-Elect of WYLD, at a ceremony on September 28, 2006.
The Professionalism Award was given to Seattle attorney Sarah Dunne of the ACLU of WA for balancing a litigation practice with a commitment to pro bono service and other community work.
The Outstanding Affiliate Award was presented to the Young Lawyers Section of the Kitsap County Bar Association for its consistent work on providing programming and events geared towards young lawyers, as well as the organization's dedication to serving its members. The award was presented on November 3rd at the Kitsap County Bar monthly luncheon in Port Orchard. WYLD Peninsula District Trustee Kimberly April and former Peninsula District Trustee Jennifer Brugger (2003-06) presented the award.
