The Public Service Committee of the Washington Young Lawyers Division has organized the Washington Will Clinic since 2006. The Washington Will Clinic aims to provide basic estate planning documents — wills, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives — for Washington first responders and their spouses/registered domestic partners at no cost.
The next Washington Will Clinic will be held on January 30, 2010, in Everett/Lynnwood. Clinic dates for 2010 are listed to the right.
Please check back later for more details. Appointments are generally booked 3–4 weeks in advance.
If you are a Washington first responder, please follow these steps to book an appointment.
- Determine your eligibility. You are not eligible for the Washington Will Clinic if your assets exceed $750,000 ($1.5 million, if married).
- Click here to schedule an appointment. Enter your full legal name (and your spouse/registered domestic partner's name) when making an appointment. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment.
- When booking your appointment, please click on "No Preference" when you are prompted to "Select a Staff Member." An attorney will be assigned to you after we receive your appointment request — picking a particular staff person when you book an appointment will have no bearing on which attorney you are assigned at the clinic.
- After you have booked an appointment, please complete and return this form. Please complete and print the form, and bring it with you to the clinic. Do NOT use the "Email" button on the form.
Both you and your spouse/registered domestic partner must complete separate forms, even though some of the information may be the same.
Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment the day of the clinic. You and your spouse will be required to present photo ID at the clinic.
