First Responder Will Clinic

Purpose

The Washington First Responder Will Clinic aims to provide basic estate-planning documents — wills, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives — for Washington first responders and their spouses/state registered domestic partners at no cost.

Upcoming Clinic

The next clinic wiil take place on February 25, 2012 in Shoreline at the Shoreline Fire Department Headquarters (17525 Aurora Ave North, Shoreline, WA 98133). Register online.

Schedule an Appointment

1. Determine your eligibility.
You are not eligible for the Washington Will Clinic if your assets exceed $750,000 ($1.5 million, if married). Only Washington residents are eligible.

2. Schedule your appointment online.
Enter your full legal name (and your spouse/registered domestic partner's name) when making an appointment. You only need to make ONE appointment for yourself and spouse/RDP. Do not make separate appointments for each individual.

You MUST complete the Additional Information section when booking your appointment. You must indicate your spouse/registered domestic partner's name (or indicate "N/A") and you must confirm that your assets are not over the limits listed above (enter "N" or "No").

3. Select "No Preference" when you are prompted to "Select a Staff Member."
An attorney will be assigned to you after we receive your appointment request — picking a particular staff person when you book an appointment will have no bearing on which attorney you are assigned at the clinic.

4. After you have booked an appointment, please complete the estate planning questionnaire .
Please complete and print the form and bring it with you to the clinic. Both you and your spouse/state registered domestic partner must complete separate forms, even though some of the information may be the same.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment the day of the clinic. You and your spouse will be required to present photo ID at the clinic.
