ATJ Board Nominating and Leadership Development Committee

Mission

This Committee is responsible for creating and implementing a statewide leadership development plan, consistent with the 2006 State Plan, and for identifying and recruiting individuals for leadership positions on the ATJ Board, the ATJ Board's committees and other stakeholder organizations.

Current Goals and Initiatives

The Committee is currently recruiting for new ATJ Board members. The ATJ Board will have four positions opening up in May 2012. Deadline for letters of interest is November 30, 2011.

Leadership Development: The ATJ Board has identified leadership development as a priority. This Committee has completed the design phase of a state leadership initiative to identify, train and support diverse leaders committed to equal justice. The planning was facilitated by the Boston-based Center for Legal Aid Education (CLAE), under contract with the Office of Civil Legal Aid (OCLA) and with funds from the Supreme Court and OCLA. The Committee is exploring funding opportunities for Phase 2 of the initiative, which is to identify and train 25 leaders.
