Status  Explanation 
Active Eligible to practice law in Washington. 
Disability Inactive Ineligible to practice law in Washington due to  physical or mental incapacity.
Disbarred Ineligible to practice law in Washington.  No longer a member of the WSBA due to disciplinary sanction.
Emeritus Limited license to practice law in Washington.  Voluntary status for members who provide pro bono services for a Qualified Legal Services Provider only.
House Counsel Limited license to practice law in Washington as in-house counsel for a business entity.
Foreign Law Consultant Limited license to practice law in Washington to advise about the laws of a foreign country only.
Honorary Ineligible to practice law in Washington.  Voluntary status for lawyers who were active or judicial members for 50 years or more.
Inactive Ineligible to practice law in Washington.  Voluntary status for lawyers who are not practicing in Washington but  remain members of the WSBA.
Judicial Ineligible to practice law in Washington.  Voluntary status for lawyers who are in a judicial position.
Military Limited license to practice law in Washington permitting military lawyers on active duty in Washington to represent military personnel on a limited basis.
Non-member Emeritus Limited license to practice law in Washington.  Voluntary status for lawyers who provide pro bono services for a Qualified Legal Services Provider only.
Resigned in Lieu of Disbarment Ineligible to practice law in Washington.  No longer a member of the WSBA due to disciplinary sanction.  Not eligible to re-apply for admission.
Resigned in Lieu of Discipline Ineligible to practice law in Washington. No longer a member of the WSBA due to resignation while disciplinary proceedings were pending. Not eligible to re-apply for admission.
Suspended – Discipline Ineligible to practice law in Washington for specified period of time due to disciplinary sanction.
Suspended – Interim Ineligible to practice law in Washington pending the outcome of disciplinary or disability proceedings.
Suspended – Non payment of fees and/or assessments Ineligible to practice law in Washington due to administrative suspension for non payment of fees and/or assessments.
Suspended – MCLE non compliance Ineligible to practice law in Washington due to administrative suspension for mandatory continuing legal education non compliance.
