Claim Against Former Client
(1956)
It is professionally improper for an attorney to undertake a claim against a person he has previously represented when use is made of any information, confidential or otherwise, which the attorney has acquired in the course of such representation. The representation of a wife in a separate maintenance suit would necessary involve her interest in community property and it would seem to be improper during such time for an attorney to confer with and represent another party having a claim against the community property of the wife and her husband without her knowledge and consent.
