Table of Proposed Rules

The Ethics 2003 Committee was formed in 2002 by the WSBA Board of Governors to review the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct and recommend changes to Washington's Rules of Professional Conduct.  The Committee submitted its report to the Board in March 2004. The report was debated at the Board's meetings in April-July 2004. The changes to the Washington's RPCs as amended by the Board were submitted to the Supreme Court under GR 9 in October 2004, and published for public comment in December 2004.  Comments must be received by the Supreme Court no later than April 29, 2005.

This page contains the individual "clean" copy of the text of each rule, complete with the text of its accompanying comment, as suggested for adoption by by the Board of Governors following their review of the Ethics 2003 Committee report. The complete text of the entire set of proposed rules, with deletions and additions marked in accordance with GR 9, can be found here.
