Comments:  The International Practice Section's emphasis is on networking with visiting and resident foreign lawyers, law students outreach in cooperation with UW and Seattle U, and education of our members through an annual CLE and frequent free CLE luncheons.

The Annual Foreign Lawyers' Reception (held at Garvey Schubert on November 10 2005)

Annual Meeting with the Consular Association of Washington (September 20, 2005, Luncheon Maggy Bailly, Esq., "Consular Services for International Law Practice")

The Annual Law Student Reception (February 16, 2006 at Perkins Coie, LLP.  Brooke Taylor, WSBA President, spoke on "Fundamentals of Democracy, Justice, and America's Court."

The Annual Section meeting in July, to thank members of the Section's past year EC and elect new EC members

3. Current Relationship Between the Section and the WSBA

Collaboration with other sections & bar-affiliated groups:

Since June 2006, the Section cooperated with the WA AILA (Association of Immigration Lawyers), the WA South Asian Bar, the WA Latino Bar, to propose to the WSBA BOG on September 15, 2006 a motion of support for the ABA position on immigration reform that was unanimously adopted by the WSBA BOG.
