Barbara Harper, MA, LMHC, LMFT
Barbara Harper, MA, LMHC, LMFT, is the Director of the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA) Lawyer Services Department (LaSD), which includes; the Lawyer Assistance, Professional Responsibility, and Law Office Management Programs. She has been with the WSBA for 22 years. Ms. Harper sits on the District and Municipal Court Judges Association Judge's Assistance Committee (JAC) in Washington State. She is a charter member of the American Bar Association (ABA) Commission on Lawyer Assistance Programs (CoLAP), and has twice had the privilege of chairing the ABA CoLAP Annual National Conference.
Dr. Nerison's passion is helping lawyers improve their lives and workplaces. She has counseled, coached, and consulted with lawyers at the Washington State Bar Association Lawyers Assistance Program since 1997. She earned a doctorate in counseling psychology from the University of Iowa in 1992 and is a licensed psychologist in Washington State. Prior to joining the WSBA staff, Rebecca ran a private practice on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and she helped students decide what they wanted to be when they grew up at Central Missouri State University. Dr. Crystal has enjoyed working at WSBA since November 2008. He received his doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Denver in 2007 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Seattle VA Hospital in 2008. His areas of expertise include substance abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder, and forensic psychology. At the Lawyers Assistance Program, Dr. Crystal provides individual therapy, leads Job Seekers groups, handles substance abuse referrals, and outreaches bar groups statewide on mental health issues. He also works with the Office of Disciplinary Counsel as the Diversion Administrator.
