The Mission of the Council on Public Legal Education is to promote public understanding of the law and civic rights and responsibilities. The CPLE pursues this mission by conducting, coordinating, encouraging and publicizing public legal education efforts in Washington state. The CPLE is a committee of the Washington State Bar Association

    • Nominations are being accepted for the CPLE's Flame of Democracy Award which recognizes significant contributions to the public's understanding of law, the justice system or government. The deadline is December 1st.

The CPLE will meet in 2009 as follows:

  • Monday, February 23, 9-noon
  • Monday, June 1, 9-noon
  • Monday, October 5, 9-noon

All meetings will be held at the WSBA offices.
