About the Council on Public Legal Education

The Council on Public Legal Education is a partnership of education, legal, media and community groups in Washington State. Its goal is to oversee, coordinate and encourage public legal education throughout the state to insure that all the people of Washington understand their legal rights and responsibilities so that they can participate effectively in the justice system and democracy. The Council is co-chaired by Judge Marlin J. Appelwick, Washington State Court of Appeals, and Judith Billings, Former State Superintendent of Public Instruction
