Frequently Asked Questions

How does this affect me as a client?

For now, all MMP services are paused. The program is no longer accepting new cases.

Why now?

WSBA is at a key decision point. The landscape of legal service delivery is shifting—nationally and in Washington—and it’s a critical moment to evaluate whether MMP is still the right tool, or if new approaches would better align with WSBA’s mission and resources.

What does “moderate means” mean in this context?

“Moderate means” typically refers to individuals who earn between 200% and 350% of the federal poverty level—too much to qualify for free legal aid, but not enough to afford full-cost private legal services. In Washington, this group includes roughly 15% of the population and often faces significant legal and financial strain.

When should expect an update on the webpage?
