Access to Justice for Veterans and Servicemembers in Washington State

The first hour of this seminar will cover veterans cultural competency. Participants will learn more about working with veterans, including veterans with mental health issues. They will also become familiar with eligibility for VA benefits and what benefits are available for veterans and their survivors.
Hour two of the program will cover military and veteran legal needs in Washington. Participants will learn more about the recent Military and Veteran Civil Legal Needs Survey, conducted by the Washington State Office of Military and Veteran Legal Assistance. Participants will become more familiar with statewide and regional legal needs, as well as the recommendations in the report aimed at improving access to justice for the military and veteran community in Washington.
